MISSIONS AND OUTREACH

MISSIONS AND OUTREACH

We believe our mission is to draw people to Christ through ministries of love and reconciliation in our community and around the world. Through these ministries and partnerships, our members have the opportunity to become the living presence of Christ in someone’s life.

We would love to help you find a place to use your gifts. There are many local opportunities for serving, including the Gladiolus Food Pantry, nursing homes, Habitat for Humanity and ECHO.

For information on how to get involved, call the church office at 239-482-2030.

On the 5th Sunday of the month, Methodist Churches in our Florida Conference support the UMC Children's Home, now known as Residing Hope. The first orphanage was established in 1908 in Enterprise, FL. Our conference has given funds to this vital ministry for 116 years!

Upon entering the sanctuary on 5th Sundays, an usher will hand you an envelope to use for your check or cash donation. Please consider contributing to Residing Hope. By the 1950’s, the major emphasis changed to caring for abused, abandoned, and neglected youth. Boys and girls are accepted without regard to race, creed or national origin. The staff is composed of trauma trained professionals who share responsibility for the children’s care 24 hours a day. Zoe Empowers provides an opportunity for orphaned youth to become self-sufficient. Through a three-year, locally-led program, orphaned youth are organized into groups of 60-100 children and receive micro grants, life skills, and vocational training to become secure, healthy, and connected community members.
