As the Parish nurse at Faith UMC, my ministry involves visiting the sick and recovering in hospitals, nursing homes, and at home and answering questions, making referrals, and following up on people as they recover, as well as ministering to spirits in need of prayer and a friendly face from church. Health Ministries also provides referrals to people in need of the Communion for Shut-ins ministries and participates in the Communion Sunday Healing/Anointing time after each service. I coordinate a list of over 70 volunteers who provide friendly visits, transportation to medical appointments, assist with Blood Pressure Sunday, will do grocery shopping or prescription pick-up for those unable to get out, and other services as needed. I love working with the exceptionally loving and giving community of people at Faith.
