The Health Ministries Committee/Parish Nurse Coordinator assist the pastors with visitation of church shut-ins and those who are recovering from an illness or hospitalization. Anyone desiring a visit or phone call or anyone aware of someone who needs a visitation can contact the church office and leave a message which will be forwarded to our Committee/Parish Nurse Coordinator.
What is the function of a Parish Nurse?
Parish Nurses are registered nurses, committed to helping parishioners meet their entire health needs of body, mind and spirit by being:
A health educator, providing wellness information, acting as a resource person, and teaching how to be a "volunteer visitor".
Parish Nurses are Health Advocates-Communicants for an individual as may be needed. They work closely with the pastors and assist congregation members in finding their way through healthcare systems.
Parish Nurses are Health Counselors who listen to concerns and discus health issues.
Parish Nurses are Health Support Facilitators who act as a referral source, have knowledge of community resources, faith community resources and promote new or existing resources.
